All of our doctors are board certified and are well versed in geriatrics, diabetes, and other diseases, this allows us to be able to treat a large number of patients with various ailments. This allows us treat the elderly as well as our younger patients and all ages in between. You can see below the bios of our highly trained professionals. Dr. Ufford M.D., FAAFP, CMD, MRO, ISCD, Director

As the founding member of the group, Dr. Ufford established South DeKalb Family Medical Associates in Crossville in 1998 and in 1999 added a second location in Albertville known as Med-Assist Doctors’ Group.  He is married with four children and four grandchildren and is active in his church.

 

While Dr. Ufford continues to see patients by appointment at the Crossville location, he has a thriving practice focused on the post-acute care needs of the nursing homes and assisted living facilities in this area.

Dr. Go joined South DeKalb Family Medical/ Med-Assist Doctors’ Group in 1999 after completing residency in New York. He is married to Dr. Rabin-Go and together they have twins (a boy and a girl).  Dr. Go’s hobbies include watching movies, swimming and shooting at the gun range.

Dr. Go sees patients of all ages at the Med-Assist Doctors’ Group office in Albertville.

MARIA RABIN-GO, MD

Dr. Rabin-Go joined South DeKalb Family Medical/ Med-Assist Doctors’ Group in 1998 after completing residency in New York. She is married to Dr. Rommel Go and together they have twins (a boy and a girl).

 

Along with parenting the twins she enjoys cooking, singing, and hosting social events for close friends.

 

Dr. Rabin-Go sees patients of all ages at the South DeKalb Family Medicine office in Crossville.

LARRY JOHNSTON, MD, MRO

Dr. Johnston joined South DeKalb Family Medical/ Med-Assist Doctors’ Group in 2002.  He is a native of Marshall County.  Dr. Johnston is married with 5 children and has an assortment of animals including dogs, cats, and fish. He spends his leisure time on water sports, fishing, golf, and automobile restoration.

 

Dr. Johnston sees patients of all ages at the Med-Assist Doctors’ Group office in Albertville.  He is also the Medical Director of Marshall County Occupational Medicine.

FRANCESCA CERIMELE, MD, PhD

Dr. Cerimele joined South DeKalb Family Medical/ Med-Assist Doctors’ Group in 2008.  She and her family have been residents of North Alabama for a number of years.  Dr. Cerimele is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.

Meet Our Highly Trained Doctors and Nurse Practitioners

Robin Scott

Robin Scott was born and raised in Boaz and graduated with a Associates Degree in Nursing from Wallace State College, Hanceville in 2004. She then completed her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2013.

 

After graduating, Robin began working in Medical Surgical Units/Cardiac, Home Health and Hospice. In 2007 she began working as a travel Nurse in Cardiac, ICU and ED which led her to Central Valley, California. During this period she worked as a Director of Nursing Services for a LTC facility and Director of a Wound Care Clinic with hyperbaric oxygen therapy. She then returned to achieve her Master's in Science. She accomplished her goal to become a Family Nurse Practitioner in August of 2015 with a Master of Science degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Simmons College, Boston, MA.

 

She graduated Phi Theta Kappa, holds WCC certification through the Wound Care Education Institute and Hyperbaric Oxygen tech certified through the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society. She is credentialed through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and licensed by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

After graduation she began working at Med-Assist Doctors' Group-Albertville Office in January of 2016.

Robin enjoys working with patients of all ages and has special place in her heart for the elderly population, wound care patients and Hospice patients and looks forward to serving our community.

Niccole McDaniel

Ms. McDaniel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Birmingham School of Nursing September 1997. She worked as a registered nurse and charge nurse in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at UAB Hospital for twelve years. While working there she did per Diem work as a Registered nurse at Brookwood Hospital, Carraway Hospital, and UAB Critical Care Transport. She also was a system nurse for Albertville City Schools for one and one-half years while working at UAB Hospital; she obtained her Master's of Science Nursing/Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Degree with a concentration in Neurosciences in March 2009. She then worked in the Kirklin Clinic Neurology Department where she had independent clinics specializing in memory disorders, epilepsy, and neuromuscular, headache, and general neurology. She is currently employed at Med-Assist Doctors' Group-Albertville office.

 

She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau national nursing honor society and The American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN), and American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). She is active in her church and community and enjoys spending time with her family.

Gayle Lombard Jr.

Gayle Lombard, Jr. graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree in 1993 from University of Montevallo in education.

He continued on and earned a Masters’ in Education from University of Birmingham in 2001.  He work as principal in a Jasper private school for sixteen (16) years.  He felt the calling to work in the healthcare field and returned to school getting an Associates Degree from Bevill State Community College 2005-2007.  After receiving that degree he began working as a Registered Nurse at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for eight (8) years on the bone marrow transplant/ intensive care unit.  He then decided he wanted to do more in healthcare and went to school to become a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner.  He worked to receive a Masters’ Degree from University of Alabama Birmingham in 2015 and began working for Med-Assist Doctors’ Group in October 2015.

Gayle is family oriented and enjoys spending weekends with his family on his small farm.  The farm includes horses, cows, chickens, pigs, guineas, peacocks, ducks, dogs, cats, Jack (the miniature donkey) and Thomas (the turkey).

He serves as pastor for Crossville Church of God.

In his spare time he rides his Harley, enjoys his recliner, Krispy Kreme, and visiting people who own capuchin monkeys.

He is married to the LOVE of his life, Gina.  They have 3 children, Trey, Abby, and John David.  He has two (2) delightful grandchildren Ryder and Brady.

Dr. Vicki Wallis

Dr. Vicki J. Wallis graduated from the University Of Alabama School Of Medicine in 1993.  She did her Pediatric residency at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.  She is Board Certified in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. 

Dr. Wallis is especially interested in asthma management and preventive care in patients from newborn to 19 years of age.
